So, it's obviously not really a battle wound. This post is actually a little delayed. On Thursday I went to give blood at the Red Cross. I really enjoy giving blood because I think it's such a simple thing we can do that can help to save lives. I forgot to bring my camera to the donation center, so I had to settle with taking a picture myself after haha so if my arm looks a little weird, it's because I'm taking the picture of my own arm.
Anyway, the last time I successfully gave blood was over a year ago with Alexa, I think last September. She went in for the "physical" before I did. While I was waiting for my turn, a phlebotomist (named Pamela) was working on another donor, and she missed his vein!! He was screaming!! Alexa claims she didn't hear anything, which I can't believe because I'm telling you, it was loud. Good thing she didn't hear because it might have scared her. But, after my physical guess who I got assigned to. PAMELA!!! Of course. Not only had she just left a man screaming bloody murder, she was rude. She wouldn't let me pick the arm I wanted, or the bandage color, and she was just impolite in general.
This time I went with Ann, and on our way I briefly recounted this experience to her and told her, with my luck, I would end up with Pamela again. And of course, I did. The lady who did my physical told her to do my left arm, and she didn't want to. And then she was just being rude again, rolling her eyes, using her phone, and so on. This time though, she actually struck up a conversation with me while blood was flowing from my arm. It turns out she's actually pretty nice.
Well, that's it! The moral of the story is...... Give blood! :)

Ha ha way to go, Derek! I love donating blood :) If I ever get a "Pamela" I will freak out...
I'm so proud of you!!! I swear I didn't hear that guy.... That's funny. Did you keep your heart rate down this time?! ;)
I need to go give blood again.....
Well guess what Alexa....we might just have to go some time after January 5! Except you'll be gone then, won't you? So we'll just have to wait longer haha
And yes, I did keep my heart rate down haha
And Blythe, maybe just avoid the Layton Clinic in general and you'll be fine :)
