So, I just got done eating dinner. (Freaking awesome spicy tacos!) After I had finished making it, I went to get a plate. We have 4 plates that we usually eat tacos on..there not really "taco plates" or anything, but they're our taco plates I guess. Anyway, each plate is a different color: blue, green, purple, magenta-ish.
Well, the purple one and the magenta one were on the outside of the stack, and I started to pull the whole stack out so I could get at the blue or green one instead since they are "boy colors." Really, though, if you think about it, boy colors don't really exist. Rather, it seems like any shade of pink or purple is just a "girl color" that boys are more or less socially forbidden to use.
It's not that I want to like pink or purple or anything. I don't really care honestly, they're just colors. I think anybody should be able to like any color they want. Girls are able to have that liberty. They can have a favorite color of pink or purple, or red, blue, green, orange, or yellow (and whatever variant of those colors they want with some crazy name that most boys don't know what they even are).
What is it about pink and purple that society deems them to be such "girl colors?" Like I said, I'm pretty much content with the way I am now, personally. But, I really just wanted to know what the difference is. If anybody is able to answer that question for me, please do! I really am curious.
So, I have come to the conclusion, at least from my perspective, that all colors are equally inferior to green. So, I went ahead and ate tacos off of that purple plate. And, I will continue to make an effort to end any color prejudice which I might have.
